Ride snowboards just dropped their latest episode of “Ride with us” featuring Rockstar’s Hana Beaman. The Ride crew tears up the Pac Northwest. Check it out below.
While the crew continued to wait for La Nina to come back, we loaded up the sleds and made a journey up onto Mt. Baker in search of some freshies. We were able to session some super fun natural hits up high on the volcano and even send the sleds off some hits as well.
Soon after that, La Nina came back in a BIG way, burying the whole state of Washington in that fluffy stuff. While Kitzke made use of the snow that shut down the cities, Tommy, Shaw, and Hiro made a trip up to Red Mountain in Rossland, British Colombia to meet up with the likes of Hanah Beaman, Brenden Swanson, Megan Ginter, and Todd Kirby. While up in Beautiful British Colombia the crew found some nipple deep pow and even some fun Urban spots. Thanks to our super rad guide Canadian Mike, aka Mike Cole, the crew had a blast and even came home with a few new tricks up their sleeves!
Meanwhile the snow is still coming down up here in the Pacific Northwest, so I’m gonna stop writing about this episode and go pack my gear and get ready to stack tomorrow in the back country!

Signal Snowboards has brought back the snurfer, but this time it is much more usable. The ultimate California dream is snowboarding and surfing in the same day. Well, now you can do it on the same board. Check out this video below. The signal guys really got creative on this “Every third Thursday.” All they need now is to add some trucks for skateboarding.

I decided to stay in Davos after O’Neill Evolution because it wouldn’t stop snowing and I had some time to spare in my schedule. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to stay and ride powder so my Nike TM Jon Weaver called up Cyril Muller to come shoot me and Jan Schererr for a few days. We spent two epic days riding a deserted mountain and shooting in the trees. Cyril is an insane photographer and so awesome to work with. I’m always super stoked when I get to shoot with him, even more so when it’s in conditions like we had. It was such a nice change of pace to do something spontaneous and get to ride out of my element. I miss getting to go out on my sled and following the snow. I grew up looking up to Brian Savard, Victoria Jealouse, Jamie Lynn and DCP so it’s fun to get to go out and emulate them. Snowboarding like that makes me remember why I do it, it puts the biggest smile on my face.

Well, at least someone is getting snow…According to a report in the TELEGRAPH 10 feet of the good stuff fell in less than 48 hours in Austria and trapped tens of thousands of people in Tirol. Popular Austrian resorts like Ischgl, Galtur and St Anton are virtually cut off from the rest of the world. While this is bad news for anyone trying to get to these resorts, it’s great news for those who are “trapped.”
“Although the roads have been closed, the resort itself has been operating as normal with skiers and boarders experiencing amazingly good conditions,” said Paznaun-Ischgl Tourist Director Andreas Steibl.
Avalanche warning service spokesman Rudi Mair said: “This is a type of snowfall the like of which we have not seen for years. Combined with that there are very high winds which are making conditions especially dangerous.”
British ski instructor Sarah Hannibal, who works in Ischgl, said: “The skiing conditions are fantastic, although obviously no one is going off-piste at the moment because of the amount of snow. It has been very windy at the top of the mountain which means visibility can be affected by wind-blown snow – but the holidaymakers are having a wonderful time.”
Mr Steibl added: “The forecast for the rest of the week is for sunnier conditions, so we don’t think there will be problems with people getting in and out at the weekend.”
Rainer Silberberger, mayor of Wildschonau, said: “We are working around the clock to clear roads and secure the snow falls. I’ve never seen weather like it.”
